The Moon in the Background

Took a quick picture after we lit our fire for the night as both a bonfire and to grill food later in the evening. Had to setup a wind barrier later on as it was a bit too windy. Too bad though since the wind stopped around midnight and it was sooooo very hot and that’s about my only complaint during the trip.

Oh and I have a fun story for you guys, I just got a message a couple of days ago from one of my followers here on tumblr and she said that she was actually there that night we were camping and she wasn’t quite sure that it was me but when she saw me post the photos she went ahead and sent me a message to let me know. What a small world!

This is a stitch created from two images and this was taken in Calatagan, Batangas. 1/6 sec., f/3.5, ISO 6400. Click through link disabled so you can click the image for a larger view.

James Guerin constructed one of the most fascinating pinhole cameras you’ll ever see. What makes the camera different is that it’s actually 25 individual pinhole cameras sharing one shutter.

Intrigued? James posted a construction guide so you can make your own. The majority of the camera’s components can be sourced from a single shoebox.

Bohyun Yoon’s installation work “Unity” (2009), “Structure of Shadow” (2007), and “Shadow” (2004) casts light on miniature wax body parts which physically dangle aimlessly; however, when illuminated by a light source, these fragmentations create shadows or illusions which illustrate figurative wholeness.
